Position Summary: The UNM/Match-NM Literacy and Mentoring Partnership was established in 2015 and is designed to assist New Mexico elementary school students by matching third grade students who are falling behind in school with dedicated college students who receive a stipend for four hours of individualized mentoring a week. MATCH-NM college students are mentors, not just tutors, and as mentors they are trained to take a holistic approach to working with younger students. Through the program, undergraduate students work as reading tutors for children in local elementary schools. The Tutor/Mentor Instructor will be expected to teach UNIV391 Match-NM Tutoring/Mentoring course in the Fall semester, as well as supervise tutor/mentors; etc...
